Jack Dodge was taking names and phone numbers Monday for the most famous hunter in Eau Claire, Wis.
“Bob’s taking a break,” said the owner of Dodge Taxidermy.
Dodge was referring to Bob Decker, an Eau Claire bow hunter who shot a large white-tailed deer Saturday morning in Wisconsin’s Buffalo County, famed for producing large-antlered deer.
Decker brought the 16-point buck to Dodge’s shop in Eau Claire, and the men are sure the deer is the same one that appeared in an Internet video posted last summer on the Field & Stream magazine Web site.
Now there is speculation the buck could be a potential world record, though no official measurements have been taken.
“Whether it’s the biggest buck ever, that will take time to determine, but it’s certainly the most popular buck right now,” Dodge said. - By Chris Niskanen, article quoted from Pioneer Press
